Welcome to my travel journal

Welcome! Kelly and I are recent retirees, and now that the kids are out on their own we are looking forward to traveling more.  We have always wanted to explore Europe, and I want to share our journeys with family and friends.  I will be sharing photos and experiences, as well as travel tips and tricks we have learned from our journeys, I hope you enjoy sharing our time away.

Regarding our travel style, we are independent travelers that enjoy staying in one place long enough to settle in and feel somewhat familiar with the place before moving on to the next stop on our trip.  This is usually a few days up to a week, but some stays are only one night depending on the location.  That is not to say we will not take day trips or local tours while we are based in a place, but we do not typically take arranged "whirlwind" tours.  We generally rent an AirBNB-type apartment for our stays, since they give us a little more room and a kitchen in case we want to eat in for some meals.  We are getting a little older and don't like to push ourselves extremely hard during our sightseeing, but we certainly get around and see plenty of things during our trips.
